Cat Deeley sent a message of ‘love’ to her friend and former co-star Declan Donnelly after his £5million home was reportedly ‘targeted by thieves’.

The Britain’s Got Talent star, 45, his wife Ali Astall, 43, and their two-year-old daughter Isla were asleep upstairs at their West London home when the attempted break-in took place, according to The Sun.

They were not disturbed and didn’t realise anything had happened until they were notified by police the following morning, but Dec and Ali are said to be ‘left shaken’ by the incident.

A source told The Sun: ‘Dec and Ali weren’t disturbed. The first they realised anything was amiss was in the morning.

‘The robbers couldn’t force the gates open and that’s what made them give up and flee.’

The couple were later seen out and about looking relaxed as they walked their dog in London.

His former SM:TV Live co-host, who is presenting Lorraine Kelly’s programme while she takes time off, paused the show on Wednesday to speak about the news.

Cat said: ‘Declan Donnelly has made the front pages with reports burglars have targeted his home in the last few days.

‘Thankfully, they fled the scene after police arrived and Dec and his wife Ali were not disturbed.

‘They only discovered something was amiss in the morning. We are sending them all our love.’

An investigation is still ongoing and there have been no arrests so far.

The Met Police told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘Police were called at approximately 00:40hrs on Tuesday, 6 April to reports of an attempted burglary at a residential property.

‘Officers attended. The suspects had left the scene prior to police arrival. There was no evidence that they had gained access to the property.

‘Enquiries are ongoing. At this early stage, there have been no arrests.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Dec’s publicist for comment.
