MasterChef fans rage as another contestant is ‘silenced by the lamb’ and serves undercooked meat during semi-final
MASTERCHEF fans were left raging as another contestant was ‘silenced by the lamb’ on the cooking competition.
Musician Laura Micheal was kicked off in the semi-final when she served up an uncooked portion of the dreaded meat.
This year’s series of the BBC show has been plagued by incidents of raw lamb, so when Laura announced she was cooking a rack of the meat, viewers immediately couldn’t believe her choice.
“Why would you do raw lamb at this stage! Laura going I’m afraid #MasterChef,” said one.
Another added: “I fear for the person who does the rack of lamb #MasterChef.”
And their fears were realised when the mum-of-two was dismissed and lost her place in Friday’s final.
Host and judge Gregg Wallace said as he tasted the dish: “I’ve got a bit of an issue with the lamb, I’m sorry to say. This cutlet here – raw – I would send back.”
After she was judged, Laura admitted she was “frustrated”.
She said: “This is the first mistake I’ve made really though – I’m hoping they take that into account.”
But it wasn’t to be and the 46-year-old was booted off, leaving Alexina Anatole, Tom Rhodes and Mike Tomkins going on to battle it out in the final.
Laura reflected: “I feel fine, you know, I knew I had made a mistake today.
“It’s been a complete once-in-a lifetime experience, it’s been amazing, I’ve learnt so much about food.
“I’m definitely a different cook now – and that’s all I wanted.”
Fans hit Twitter in their droves to berate Laura’s lamb.
