DMX fans have been sharing some of their favorite touching clips of the rapper after the Hip-Hip legend died today (April 9).

The iconic hitmaker – real name Earl Simmons – had been hospitalized last Friday following a heart attack from an alleged drug overdose, and was on life support before his family confirmed the news of his death with fans.

Fans immediately flocked to social media to share their sorrow about the loss, with many taking the time to share their favorite memory of the rap artist.

One clip that instantly flooded timelines was a wholesome snippet from the rapper’s appearance on ABC sitcom, Fresh Off the Boat.

The clip sees DMX watering orchids and giving relationship/ life advice to character Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang).

He explains: ‘When I first started growing orchids, I thought they needed the most expensive soil and light to blossom, and they died.

‘That’s when I realized all they really needed was time and attention. You don’t need to give a girl a gift. You need to give you her time.

One Twitter user shared the clip with a caption: ‘This morning I woke up to find the last petal of an orchid plant I’ve been trying to nurse on the floor. I should’ve known then. RIP DMX.’

‘RIP DMX, I hope you’re in heaven surrounded by the prettiest orchids,’ another tweeted.

Elsewhere, Chance The Rapper’s clip of special moment DMX prayed over him also resurfeaced.

‘DMX prayed over me once and I could feel his anointing,’ the rap star captioned the post.

Another video that was getting shared saw the rapper reassuring his young daughter on a ‘Sling Shot’ ride in 2018.

The rapper can be seen comforting his frightened daughter while they are strapped in next to each other during the thrill ride which shoots them high into the air.

DMX holds his daughter’s hand in the video and continually repeats ‘daddy’s here’ and ‘it’s ok, mama’.

His family announced his death in a statement to People, as they said: ‘We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.

‘Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time.

‘Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalised.’

The Ruff Ryders star was claimed to have had an overdose at around 11pm at his home last Friday night, with TMZ reporting it had caused a heart attack.
