Full WrestleMania 37 set reveal: WWE builds entire pirate ship with firing canons inside Raymond James Stadium

WWE has officially revealed the full WrestleMania 37 set inside Raymond James Stadium – and they’ve outdone themselves.

In the past, the sports entertainment spectacle has featured some incredible designs – most from the mind of veteran Jason Robinson – but it’s safe to say things have been taken to a whole new level.

With fans returning on both nights this weekend, WWE has built an actual pirate ship inside the stadium and it looks absolutely spectacular.

The vessel – which comes complete with firing canons and huge WrestleMania sails – was unveiled by SmackDown commentator Corey Graves and The Bump host Kayla Braxton as they hyped up the huge spectacle.

Kayla teased: ‘We are just hours away from the most anticipated return in WWE history.’

Corey added: ‘It’s a WrestleMania more than two years in the making but finally the grand spectacle’s back.’

‘And the WWE Universe will be back,’ his co-star said. ‘WrestleMania will be here, right here, where it was supposed to be last year in Tampa Bay at Raymond James Stadium.’

Teasing the pirate theme, the pair continued: ”But this weekend on these hallowed grounds, legacies will be pillaged, championships will be plundered…

‘The WWE Universe shall rejoice. So, without further ado, let’s reveal this weekend’s battleground… and welcome everyone to WrestleMania 37 – now fire the canons!’

During WrestleMania Week itself, WWE worker Jason – whose job title is production designer and lighting director – has ‘a lot of hats to wear’, and he’s constantly running up and down the huge ramp during rehearsals, as well as sorting out the ‘set moves’.

‘My favourite part of the whole design process is the night before WrestleMania’, he recently revealed.

‘When it’s all quiet, we’ve taken months and months to design and fabricate the set.

‘I’ve done many site surveys and hours of planning. It’s 1am in the morning, all the rehearsals are complete, the stadium is quiet.

‘The lighting guys still have all the lights on and the programming is finished, and we get to quietly look around at the final design before going on air the next day.’
