Fresh from his recent stint on I’m A Celebrity, Vernon Kay is back on our screens tonight to host ITV’s newest series Game of Talents.

The All Star Family Fortunes host – who is an impressive 6ft 4 tall – made it all the way to the final three with Radio 1 DJ Jordan North and author Giovanna Fletcher.

Vernon’s wife Tess Daly will be a guest on tonight’s launch episode, adding some Strictly sparkle to the show.

But how long have the couple been married and when did they meet?

How long have Vernon Kay and Tess Daly been married?

Vernon Kay and Tess Daly got married on September 12, 2003 and celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary together last year.

The couple started dating in 2000 and tied the knot two years later in Vernon’s hometown of Horwich, Greater Manchester.

They have since had two children together, Phoebe, 15, and Amber, 10, who were featured in the image Tess shared in support of Vernon this week.

The family photo is especially rare as Vernon explained to a fan on social media last year that the couple actively avoid sharing too much of their home life online with the general public, preferring instead to live a much more private life:

‘Pictures of our family life are all labelled nicely on an iPad or in Apple photo books for us to share, as a family,’ Vernon explained.

‘No need to invite the world into our home life, some do, but it’s not for us. We are 100 [per cent]. Thanks for asking.’

Vernon and Tess’ marriage hit the headlines in 2010 when Vernon was caught sending inappropriate messages to glamour model Rhian Sugden.

The star made a public apology at the time and promised live on BBC Radio 1 that he would no longer contact Rhian.

Referring to the scandal in 2017, Tess told The Times: ‘All marriages have their moments.

‘Marriage is a work in progress. Vernon and I are just people, at the end of the day.’

Game of Talents starts on ITV tonight at 7.30pm.
