January Jones has revealed she was forced to ‘bludgeon’ a rattlesnake after one bit her pup Vinny.

The former Mad Men star explained Vinny had been bitten by a ‘baby rattler’ earlier this week, so when another made its way into her home, she took extreme action.

Sharing a video of herself holding what appears to be a croquet mallet, she wrote on Instagram: ‘Right before I was forced to bludgeon yet ANOTHER rattle snake today.

‘I almost cried.’

In the background, someone, possibly her son Xander, can be heard chanting: ‘Kill it!’ with January writing: ‘I’m sorry snake family, this house is taken.’

Clearly successful in her mission, the 43-year-old later added: ‘Lemme know if anyone needs a snake wrangler’.

January also reassured fans that Vinny is doing okay following the ordeal, sharing a sweet photo of him cosied up on the couch.

‘Vinny’s back home,’ she wrote. ‘Tired out but doing well.’

Earlier this week, she explained what happened to Vinny, sharing a picture of a snake and writing: ‘This baby rattler bit my lil Vinny this morning.

‘I caught and released it but praying for my pup who’s in the hospital now ❤️.’

January welcomed her son Xander in 2011, and has never publicly revealed the identity of his father.

Last year, she shared a rare photo of him at the George Floyd protests.

The actress wrote: ‘I promise that I will always continue to talk to my child about inequality. And I promise to do all I can to learn more.

‘We have had many more of these necessary hard conversations over the last few days, about why people are so angry and sad.’

She continued: ‘For a child who didn’t used to see color amongst his friends it’s hard for him to understand, to understand why the past he learns about in school is still very present in our world today.

‘I wanted to give him an opportunity today to do a small neighborhood protest to support his friends and feel like he’s part of the progress that will hopefully happen.’
