DMX may have worked to uphold his rough guy rapper image but behind the scenes he spent his time watching The Golden Girls reruns.

A story told by actress Gabrielle Union, 48, during an episode of food show Hot Ones in 2017 has resurfaced and she told host Sean Evans a ‘real fun fact’ about DMX.

She said: ‘Do you know that DMX loves The Golden Girls and that’s a real fun fact?’

When asked how she knew, she responded: ‘Because he watches it in his trailer.

‘There was a dog biting incident with one of the PAs who was sent to go get him for set and so after a while nobody wanted to go get him.

‘So I would be sent to go get him because I’m a dog person and he’d be like, “Gab, have a drink. Come and watch The Golden Girls. This s**t is funny.”’

She said they’d watch the show while drinking beer, adding that it would be ‘hysterical’.

Gabrielle learned about the late star’s viewing habits while working with him on 2003 film Cradle 2 The Grave.

DMX, real name Earl Simmons, died at the age of 50 after a heart attack.

The musician and actor had been on life support for a week but it’s believed he had not regained brain function after being deprived of oxygen for around 30 minutes.
