Selena Gomez gave onlookers a shock as she was arrested while covered in blood for new show Murders in the Building in New York this week.

The actress, 28, could be seen in a pair of handcuffs as she was escorted to a police car as she shot the scenes.

The It Ain’t Me singer wore a white turtleneck which was bloodstained at the front.

She had on a short brown skirt and hoop earrings while her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.

The new on set pictures come after Selena recently responded to claims she’s dating co-star Aaron Dominguez.

The singer is currently working alongside the actor on the Hulu series and, after pictures of the two on set together emerged online, some social media users speculated that they were an item.

However Selena has denied these suggestions and has stated she is very much single.

She told the Los Angeles Times: ‘We had just started working together. I honestly thought, “No wonder guys don’t want to date me!”

‘I think people only care because I’m young, and the older I get the less they’ll care. For now it’s a part of the job that I don’t really like.

‘I’m actually grateful that I’m not involved with anyone right now.’

The star recently revealed she was considering retiring from music as she feels she’s not taken seriously as a musician.

She told Vogue: ‘It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, “What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?”’

Selena added that her 2019 US number one single, Lose You To Love Me, was ‘the best song that I’ve ever released’, but ‘for some people it still wasn’t enough’.

She stated: ‘I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.’
