Timothée Chalamet made a hilarious flute-playing cameo on the latest instalment of Saturday Night Live last night, and we’re obsessed.

Timothée dropped by to make our weekends last night and appeared in a hilarious trap and hip-hop inspired sketch.

The actor shocked fans by appearing unannounced alongside Kid Cudi, Pete Davidson and Chris Redd in a skit that paid tribute to ‘that weird little flute’.

Referencing the flute sound that has been featured on a number of recent trap songs, the track saw Timothée pop up and play a flute solo – as you do.

Fans screamed as the actor appeared unannounced, pretending to be playing a mean solo over the beat and dancing in the back of the video.

Suffice to say, it’s the content we didn’t know we needed in our lives this weekend.

Elsewhere on the show, Kid Cudi was showered with praise for wearing a floral dress in homage to late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain.

Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, was the musical guest on this weekend’s SNL, which was hosted by Carey Mulligan.

Carey’s husband Marcus Mumford also crashed her hosting slot on the US sketch show.

The Oscar-nominated actress, who has up for a gong at this year’s ceremony for her lead role in Promising Young Woman, made her debut on the long-running comedy series last night.

In her opening monologue, Carey joked she was the ‘first English person to ever host this show’, a nod to the heavy British presence in recent episodes.

Saturday Night Live returns to NBC in the US next Saturday.
