When is the final of MasterChef 2021 being shown?
The final of the current series of MasterChef was scheduled to air on Friday at 8.30pm on BBC One, with Mike Tomkins, Tom Rhodes and Alexina Anatole in the running for the title.
Revealing the news, the show’s official Twitter account posted: ‘Following today’s sad news about HRH Prince Philip, tonight’s scheduled #MasterChefUK Final has been postponed.’
As it stands, the BBC has not yet announced when the MasterChef finale will take place.
Viewers have voiced their upset at the final being postponed and even resorted to sharing a link to the BBC’s complaints page.
‘Maybe the BBC can explain why we need both BBC 1 & 2 showing the same thing, over & over?’ vented one, in reference to the BBC’s coverage of Prince Philip’s death.
‘Surely MasterChef could have been moved to BBC2? I mean it’s only a 1/2 show. I mean I’m a royalist but jeeze do we really need wall-to-wall coverage on ALL channels?’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Very disappointing, I have the greatest respect for the Royal family but really don’t understand why all programmes have to be cancelled?!’
MasterChef is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
