Ashley Cain’s girlfriend, Safiyya Vorajee, has updated fans on their baby daughter Azaylia after rushing her to hospital for a platelet transfusion last night.

The eight-month-old has been given just days to live by doctors amid her battle with leukaemia, and had to be taken to hospital after bleeding from her nose.

However, Safiyya revealed that the platelet transfusion she was given only stopped the bleeding temporarily and not entirely overnight, but she was grateful to still be able to wake up with her daughter.

Alongside photos of Azaylia in hospital, Safiyya wrote: ‘Last night we took Azaylia to the hospital for an emergency platelet transfusion as the leukaemia caused profused bleeding.

‘Azaylia had a 30min transfusion, but this didn’t stop the bleeding over night, I put her on her observation machine so I could keep an eye on her oxygen & heart rate levels for reassurance.

‘I have the privilege to wake up this morning and watch her open her eyes and play this is precious/ Tomorrow isnt promised to anyone, waking up today is the blessing itself.’

She added on her story: ‘Azaylia was experiencing loads of nose bleeds last night and that’s down to the blood and the platelets in the body not being able to clot the blood so it’s just bleeding through her nose.’

Safiyya revealed that they had taken her in at 11pm, adding: ‘Unfortunately overnight she still experienced the nosebleeds and the clotting hasn’t happened.

‘I’ve just spoken with a community nurse who’s actually taking care of us and they are going to come out and have a little look and a review of her today, so we are just sitting tight for them.’

She added that she had had more castings done of Azaylia’s hands and feet in case she lost or damaged one of the keepsakes, and would also be having a tattoo done of the tot’s hands and feet so she could always keep her close by.

Ashley had revealed earlier that Azaylia had been ‘happy and lively’ earlier in the day, but that the excess bleeding could result in her bleeding out.

He explained: ‘Because of her blood cancer it means it eats away at the cells that help to clot the blood, so with the tumours, plus the lack of platelets in her body, that means she could bleed out from the inside and that’s no way for Azaylia to go.’

The couple had planned to take Azaylia to Singapore for a year-long course of intensive treatment, with fans raising over £1.5million to go towards her care, but they were given the devastating news that the treatment would no longer be possible for her after her condition worsened.
