An actual trailer for the next Battlefield still hasn’t released yet but leaker Tom Henderson claims to know what it will show.

While EA itself has acknowledged the existence of a new Battlefield game and says it’s releasing this year, it still hasn’t said anything else about it.

It’s rumoured the trailer will be shown this spring but, thanks to the efforts of reputable Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson, we may already know what it will entail.

Recently, a member of the Battlefield community asked for Henderson’s opinion on a theory that the trailer will feature Kazakhstan as a location. Henderson bluntly replied that he wasn’t sure, but he added that the trailer does take place on a desert island.

He went into a little more detail on Twitter, describing it as being like a bigger, more mountainous version of the Peale Islet of Wake Island, an atoll located in the Pacific Ocean that has featured in multiple Battlefield games.

He also offered a couple of artist’s renditions of what it would look like, in order to better get across the sense of scale, and even claimed there could be six to eight Osprey choppers at once.

It’s been previously rumoured that the new Battlefield will offer 128+ player matches, which would require massive maps to accommodate that many players.

Henderson had also previously shared details about the game’s single-player campaign, but has since clarified that the information he received was actually backstory for the game, meaning a campaign mode has yet to be confirmed.

Henderson is regarded as a trusted source of info and his claims seemed to be proven right when his original Twitter account was suspended. It’s not known if EA was actually responsible for it but, if it was, it very much feels like a case of the Streisand effect.

The frequent leaks have only made fans more eager for an actual announcement, but EA has yet to confirm a solid date for it. Some suspect that it is waiting until E3 2021, as while EA isn’t taking part directly they’re likely to have their own EA Play event around the same time in June.
