Lorraine was not keen on spending one more minute not in a beer garden this week as she downed a shot in celebration of the lockdown restrictions easing on Monday.

The ITV presenter was one of many who flocked to packed beer gardens and outdoor restaurants around the country, sharing their reignited social life to Instagram after months in lockdown.

Heading to the pub with her daughter, Rosie, Lorraine was soon presented with a shot and she sent it away like the legend she is – with all captured for posterity.

In a video shared to her Instagram Lorraine was seen knocking back the drink – which, according to her facial expression immediately afterward, went down like nails.

‘Oh my…’ the presenter said as the clip cut out, with Rosie writing on the video from the Horse and Groom: ‘Happy pubs are open day.’

Loving life, Lorraine beamed in a photo she posted to her grid from the Belgravia watering hole, with pints scattered on the table in a sight that, frankly, brings a tear to one’s eye after a lengthy spell in lockdown three without our beloved pubs.

And in case you’d missed the memo and were wondering why many had a smile on their face yesterday, or were nursing a bacon butty before starting work today, she helpfully noted: ‘The pubs are OPEN!’ (Well… not for Lorraine’s Scottish pals north of the border, who still have to wait for April 26 for beer gardens to open, but that’s neither here nor there.)

Fans loved the star’s pub-based post, with one enthusing: ‘Lets start getting the rounds in…’ as loads added cheers emoji to the replies.

Another noted: ‘Looks like you had a fab time,’ while one understandably mused: ‘I’ve forgotten what a pub is!’

The presenter is clearly making the most of her break, having taken taking two weeks off for Easter as Cat Deeley stepped in to host last week’s shows, with Ranvir Singh taking the reins until Friday.

Lorraine’s jubilant return to the beer garden came as pubs across the country packed out on Monday as punters enjoyed their first post-work pints in four months.

London’s Soho was booming with customers as bars set-up outdoor seating areas in the street, while venues were also brimming with thirsty Brits in Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.

Those keen on making the most of the restrictions easing even queued before midnight so they could down a pint as soon as the clock stuck 12, when pubs were allowed to reopen.

Cheers!
