Thrifty Stacey then uses them to make her own crackers and advent calendars with – starting as early as September – and says it saves her money at Christmas time.
“I make my own crackers, because I genuinely think shop-bought crackers are terrible,” confessed her penny pinching habit in her new book Tap To Tidy.
“Even when you spend £25 on a pack of posh crackers – which I think is an absolute joke – all you get in there is a bloomin’ pencil or a miniature bowling set that no-one’s ever going to use.
“It’s a load of rubbish! So I order cracker kits online in September, when they tend to be a bit cheaper.

“Basically, you get the snappy stick, joke and a hat – paper, so all recyclable – as well as a paper wrapper for the cracker itself. All you need to do is add your own gift.
“So if I know that my mum’s favourite chocolate is a Daim bar, I can put a mini Daim bar in there.
“I can even do what I do with advent calendars and put mini tester perfumes in there – everyone loves those!
“Personally, I’d much rather have a mini Chanel scent inside my cracker than another bloomin’ thimble.”

The 32-year-old Instagram influencer and Loose Women star has become a huge hit on social media for her nifty household tips.
“Let’s say you go on a holiday and they’ve got really nice shampoo and conditioners in the hotel – save up the freebies and use them as cracker prizes at Christmas,” she continues.
“It doesn’t even have to be a present – you could write a little message to each person if you wanted.

“And even if you spent money on miniatures, it should still work out a lot better value per cracker – more bang for your buck, if you like.
“And yes, they do still bang if you make them from a kit!”
Stacey has recently been sharing her life to her Instagram followers from her new idyllic home Pickle Cottage after a seven day digital detox to spend time with fiance Joe Swash and their three sons, Zachary, 12, Leighton, eight and Rex, one.
The £1.2million property is Stacey’s “dream home” and the excited mum revealed she and Joe are planning to the knot in their huge garden.

The family moved into the gorgeous Essex pad last month and she had already decided that she wanted to use it as their wedding venue.
But earlier this week the telly star revealed that it might not be able to happen as they needed to get hold of a licence to host the event themselves.
Since then it’s been given the all clear and the X Factor star revealed the happy news on her Instagram Story.
Stacey told fans: “So after lots of thinking, wondering, phone calls and then crazy rearranging we were so excited to hear tonight that we can definitely have our wedding ceremony at home.”
She added: “It’s all just come at once, so many of these things have been in the planning for years.”

The excited mum-of-three went on to share what plans they have already thought of for their big day.
She continued: “We are having a little ready minute walking around the garden thinking where things might be.
“We are thinking walking down woodland walk for our vowels and then a reaction in this old barn.”
Last week Stacey revealed that she had to put their big day on hold during an appearance on Lorraine.

She told stand-in host Cat Deeley: “Oh god. So we had a venue and then obviously we didn’t know we were going to move here but then we saw the house and just thought ‘oh my god, let’s go for it’ and now that we are here, we would actually really like to get married in the garden.
“So we are trying to see if we can do that but we don’t know if we will be able to get a license.”
Their property is set within 2.5 acres of land, so would offer plenty of space for their wedding.
Stacey announced the happy news that she was engaged to the former EastEnders star on Christmas Eve last year.
