Colton Underwood is filming a new Netflix series that will follow his journey as a gay man.

The Bachelor alum came out as gay on Wednesday’s Good Morning America and the 29-year-old opened up about being the ‘happy’ place in his life.

Now it’s reported that fans will get the chance to follow Colton on his journey of self-discovery as an out and proud gay man.

Variety states that the unscripted series will have multiple episodes, with sources describing the project as focusing on Colton living his life publicly as a gay man.

An insider told the publication that Olympian Gus Kenworthy will appear in the series, acting as a guide, of sorts.

During his GMA interview, Colton admitted that he’s had experienced ‘suicidal thoughts’ which made him realize it was time to be honest about his sexuality.

‘What was that moment for you that gave you the courage to speak your truth as you are today?’ Robin Roberts asked.

Colton stated: ‘I got into a place for me in my personal life that was dark and bad. I can list a bunch of different things but they would all be excuses.

But I think the reason why now is because I got to a place where I didn’t think I was ever going to share this. I would have rather died than say I’m gay.’

He continued: ‘That was sort of my wake up call… there was a moment in LA when I woke up and I didn’t think I was going to wake up. I had no intentions of waking up.

‘And I did. I think for me that was my wake up call. I was like “This is your life. Take back control.” Looking back even beyond that, even just suicidal thoughts when driving my car close to a cliff. I don’t feel that anymore.’

As for his hopes for future relationships, Colton explained: ‘I still have a lot to work through. I’ll just go on record saying I still haven’t had an emotional connection with a man.

‘I’ve never allowed myself to…I want to, more than anything. I’m looking for someone who can push me and challenge me in all the great ways.’
