Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux ‘still love each other’ three years after split and ‘talk over FaceTime’
Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston ‘still love’ each other three years on from their divorce.
The actors split in what Justin previously described as a ‘gentle separation’ in February 2018 after two years of marriage.
Justin told Esquire that the former couple are still pals and often talk on the phone or on FaceTime. He also left a friendly comment on Instagram for his ex-wife’s birthday in February.
He added that he would feel a ‘loss’ if the Friends star was no longer in his life.
Setting the record straight he said their break up was not ‘dramatic’: ‘I would say we’ve remained friends. We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text.
‘Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other.
‘I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship…It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally. And I’d like to think the same for her.’
The stars said their decision to split was ‘mutual’ and ‘lovingly made’, adding that they had decided to go public with the news ‘to reduce any further speculation’.
The statement, released by Aniston’s publicist Stephen Huvane, said: ‘Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.
‘Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.’
Jennifer and Justin described themselves as ‘two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship’.
The couple wed in 2015 at their Bel Air home, in a ceremony that was apparently so low-key their guests didn’t know they were attending a wedding.
