Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announce split ending engagement: ‘We’re better as friends’

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have announced their split, weeks after speculation of trouble in their relationship.

The couple began dating in 2017 and got engaged two years later.

However, they’ve now ended their engagement on amicable terms.

In a joint statement released to USA Today, the former couple said: ‘We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.

‘We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.

‘Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.’
