‘Jesus Liam’ is no more as One Direction star cuts his hair and the world ends9
Liam Payne fans were left mourning his long locks as the singer revealed he has had a haircut.
With the UK beginning to open up, people – such as the likes of Piers Morgan – have been getting to the hairdressers to tidy up their lockdown looks.
The Strip That Down popped into his salon on Thursday to go back to the short look we’re more used to seeing him with.
In a tweet he unveiled his new look, adding an emoji of a man getting his barnet trimmed with a pair of scissors.
Fans flocked to Twitter in mourning for what the style they dubbed ‘Jesus Liam’, as his flowing hair made him resemble, you guessed it, Jesus.
One fan tweeted: ‘End of an era. We will miss your Jesus Liam hair. Thank you for your service. Gone but never forgotten.’
Another wrote: ‘Guys guys guys. Jesus came back after three days, what if Jesus Liam comes back after three months?’
‘Yeah, he still looks good but Jesus Liam has a special place in my heart. Fly high long locks, you will be missed xx’ another devastated fan wrote.
‘It looks good but I miss Jesus liam already,’ read a further tweet, while another said: ‘I wake up and jesus Liam is gone??? brb gonna cry’.
‘Wish we could turn back time… to the good old days, when liam had his jesus hair now its all gone,’ another person tweeted.
Liam himself, who recently got engaged to girlfriend Maya Henry, has acknowledged how his old hairstyle made him look, sharing a side-by-side picture of himself and the religious figure on Instagram, inviting fans to ‘tune in for my personal gospel of 1D and LP’.
The new hairdo could of course be a sign that a new Liam Payne era is coming and he wanted to strip that down to promote a new single…
