AEW Dynamite Viewership Jumps Over 1M After WWE NXT Exits Wednesday Night Wars

The Wednesday Night Wars between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT have officially ended as of this week. NXT moved to Tuesday Nights following WrestleMania 37, leaving both shows to run unopposed on back to back nights. The best part is this move has done good not just for NXT, but also for AEW.

Numbers keep getting better for AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite presented its first show without competition from NXT, and guess what? The company amassed their best viewership till date. AEW Dynamite averaged 1.2 million viewers on Dynamite! This is way up from last week’s 688,000 viewers.

Last week, NXT presented Night 1 of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. The show beat Dynamite in viewership, ending their four month viewership win streak. But this week, Dynamite bounced back big time without competition.

Although there is no War anymore, if we do consider the numbers, then AEW Dynamite won convincingly this week. NXT averaged 805,000 viewers (768,000 the previous week) only. That’s a difference of 400,000 viewers!

If AEW continues to average over a million, then they could very well beat Monday Night Raw in the months to come. Anyway, them beating Raw will happen when it has to. Right now, let’s get back to the 1.2+ million average views.

Genuine pro wrestling fans always hoped for NXT and Dynamite to be on separate nights. Why? Well, that’s what’s best for wrestling overall. Not only would the shows get an unopposed audience tuning in, but it also makes a fans’ life easier as they no longer have to watch two shows at once.

AEW getting over a million views is really wonderful. The show wasn’t heavily advertisied, but they had a good card. The Young Bucks putting on a classic against the Death Triangle, Mike Tyson knocking out Cash Wheeler, and a lot more definitely made even the casual fans stay on TNT.

We wish AEW Dynamite and all the performers all the best. We hope these great numbers continue to come in week in and week out. After all, it’s not about who wins between WWE and AEW, it’s about professional wrestling winning as a whole.

Do you think AEW will continue this momentum and average a million viewers every week? Let us know in the comments below!
