BREAKING: Amanda Nunes Returns to Action at UFC 256 Against Julianna Pena
Amanda Nunes has been defending and clearing out not one but two divisions simultaneously in the UFC over the past few years. This is something that has never been attempted before, let alone executed so perfectly. However, the downfall of being one of the most dominant champions ever in the sport is a dearth of new opposition to face.
For her next title defense at bantamweight ‘The Lioness’ will be taking on Julianna Pena at UFC 265 on 7th August. ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ is currently ranked 6th at 135-pounds and is fresh off a win against Sara McMann in her most recent outing. This will be the first time that Pena will be challenging for UFC gold.

Is Julianna Pena the fighter to end the dominant Amanda Nunes title reign?
Although it is not officially announced yet, the fight between the two women is a done deal as per recent reports. However, at this point it is not known if the fight will headline the card, neither is the venue for the event.
Following her recent win against Sara McMann, Julianna Pena called out Amanda Nunes for ducking her and challenged her to a fight.
After Nunes’ win over Anderson, Pena once again took to Twitter to call out the champion. Her persistence and the fact that she is the only one willing to take a fight against Nunes has landed her the biggest fight of her UFC career thus far.
Nunes on the other hand, recently dominated Megan Anderson and secured a first-round finish to defend her featherweight belt at UFC 259. She has not competed in the bantamweight division since December 2019 when she beat Germaine de Randamie in a successful title defense.
Nunes has been steamrolling her opponents for a while now and it is hard to see how anyone could dethrone her at this point in time. However, Pena believes she has the tools and the know-how to dethrone ‘The Lioness’
