Tyson Fury’s Father Reveals Why His Son Won’t Fight Anthony Joshua After August 2021

The heavyweight unification clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has already seen enough drama in its buildup. However, it might not be over yet. Both sides haven’t come up with an official date, and Fury’s team is unwilling to stage the fight after August.

While WBC champion Tyson Fury has already reached Las Vegas and seems to undergo an active camp, ‘AJ’ hasn’t updated anything from his side.

Hence, Tyson Fury’s father John Fury connected with Sky Sports and revealed how important activeness is for a boxer and they will not sacrifice it after August.

“He (Tyson Fury) is gonna need tune-up fights, obviously because an activity plays a big part in boxing. ‘AJ’ was out here at good nine rounds with Pulev. You know Tyson has done nothing since the Wilder fight,” said John Fury.

The 56-year-old added, “You can be in this gym and spar and run down the road as much as you want. You have got to have activity on the lights. But that’s by and by if this fight happens in June or July, or even August. We are up for it, we will take it.”

However, the winner of the fight will be entitled to a 60/40 purse split in the re-match. Apart from the massive money, all the heavyweight belts will also be out on the line.

So, there’s no reason why Anthony Joshua should duck the fight. Moreover, when he is the unified champion and still fresh from a win against Kubrat Pulev via KO.
