“Best Thing I’ve Seen” – Chase Elliott Lauds Kevin Harvick’s Unique Idea to Help His Injured Son Race Again

Kevin Harvick came up with quite a unique idea to help his injured son, Keelan and Chase Elliott finds it very interesting. Recently, young Keelan injured himself and was forced to wear a cast.

The injury occurred midway through Keelan’s racing season, who is following his dad’s footsteps and has already shown his skills on the racetrack.

Therefore, to ensure that Keelan does not stay away from racing for too long, Harvick came up with a ‘custom-made cast’ for his son to race in.

The Stewart-Haas Racing driver posted pictures of the same on Instagram, surprising many with such a different idea. One of them is his Cup Series competitor Elliott, who said it is the ‘best thing he saw on social media’.

Keelan is seen holding a steering wheel, while Harvick and the doctor were seen figuring out the details.

Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott will look to end winless runs

Both Elliott and Harvick are yet to win a race this NASCAR season, and will now aim to do so at Richmond Raceway on Sunday.

Elliott has looked good and came close to wins in his Hendrick Motorsports car. However, Harvick is suffering a slump of sorts.

For most drivers, 6 Top-10 finishes, including 2 Top-5s across 8 races would constitute a good start to the season. However, Harvick raised the bar very high for himself after last year’s 9-win season.

Considering that, he hasn’t looked even close to his best so far in 2021. It seems to be a problem with Stewart-Haas Racing itself as none of the 4 drivers have been able to make an impact.

Meanwhile, Elliott will look to convert last weekend’s 2nd-place finish at Martinsville into a win at Richmond. Elliott suggested earlier that he is not too worried about remaining winless and feels the win will come soon enough. The reigning champ starts on the second row, in 3rd place on Sunday.

Harvick, on the other hand, starts in 9th place. Richmond comes at a good time for him. He has three wins overall and 6 Top-5s in his last 9 races there.

For now, though, Harvick is playing the ‘dad’ role to perfection.
