EastEnders star confirms soap departure as role is recast after six years

EASTENDERS star Shay Crotty has revealed he has left the soap as Tommy Moon.

The child star has played the son of Kat Slater since 2015 from when he was five – but now he is exiting the soap with the role set to be recast.

Shay has revealed he has left the BBC One soap

Tommy took centre stage last year in scenes that saw him open up to former stepdad Kush Kazemi about his struggles with school.

He was later diagnosed with dyslexia and found help from teacher Isaac Baptiste who offered to tutor him outside of school.

Actor Shay has now confirmed he has left the show with a series of Instagram posts.

He posted pictures with his on-screen family including mum Jessie Wallace and great aunt Gillian Wright.
