Ellie Goulding shows off bare baby bump ahead of birth of first child
Ellie Goulding has been pictured proudly showing off her baby bump in a snap shared by husband Casper Jopling.
The singer, 34, is expecting her first child with art dealer Casper and he seems excited to soon be a father.
Sharing the photo on Instagram, he cheerfully wrote: ‘My best friend is pregnant btw (with my new best friend) xx.’
In the image Ellie can be seen sitting on lush green grass as she dips her foot in a stream of water.
The musician was leaning back with her eyes closed as she faces the sun.
Her top was pulled up to leave her bump on display while Casper also dipped his feet in the water.
The picture was shared along with a snap from her Paper magazine profile.
During the publication’s interview, Ellie admitted she wouldn’t be expecting if she hadn’t have been forced to cancel her Brightest Blue Tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She said: ‘All I wanted to do was go on tour with it. And you know what? If I had gone on tour with the new album, chances are, I would not be pregnant right now.
‘I mean, I’m just going to be honest – they really don’t go together. And obviously certain things need to occur to become pregnant.’
She added that she managed to keep her pregnancy quiet for quite a while as she was holed up in her country home during lockdown and so was not seen by many people.
Ellie revealed she was expecting when she was already 30 weeks pregnant in an interview with Vogue earlier this year.
The pop star found out she was having a baby when she and Casper headed abroad to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
She revealed she had ‘no idea’ she was already pregnant while appearing on BBC’s The One Show in July last year.
The Love Me Like You Do singer said: ‘We did The One Show. I was pregnant and had no idea.
‘That was [around] the time when Caspar and I went away briefly when we were allowed to for our one-year anniversary, and that’s basically when we found out.’
