Emilia Romagna GP: Tsunoda and Lando Norris Have a Funny Exchange Before Imola F1 Qualifying

Yuki Tsunoda is the new kid on the Formula One grid. The young Japanese driver is already excited for his second race of the season, some might say “too excited”. Tsunoda posted that he was ready for the qualifying session, but McLaren’s Lando Norris reminded him that FP3 was still left.

In FP1, the Japanese driver didn’t get off to a great start, he had also gone off track. Tsunoda came plum last on the timesheet with a 1.19.781. While in the second practice session, he significantly improved and came seventh on the timesheet.

The 20-year-old did score his first points in Formula One at the last Grand Prix in Bahrain. He hopes to carry on the momentum and bring a better result in Italy.

The AlphaTauri driver is entering the second race of his Formula One career. He can’t wait for the qualifying session on Saturday. However, Norris reminds his colleague that the third practice session is still left.

On Instagram Yuki wrote, “Flying into Quali”, to which Norris replied, “FP3 first mate”. It doesn’t end there as Tsunoda replied to Norris, “Oops I’m new here.”

The Japanese driver aims for a better result in Imola than in Bahrain

The race at Imola will be Yuki’s second race in Formula One. The young driver impressed everyone in the season opener in Bahrain but hopes to bring home points this weekend.

He said, “I drove here before the season so I’m really looking forward to it,” he said. “I think I have a bit of an advantage with that. I just have to use that advantage to the maximum and hopefully it will be better result.

“Of course I’m aiming higher than Bahrain for the result  and especially in qualifying, I want to go to Q3 this time so and get a good result and also for the team.”

The much-awaited fast-paced, high-intensity qualifying is today. Tsunoda will be aiming to unleash the full potential of the car as they go around the track. hoping to get a good position for Sunday’s race.
