Emilia Romagna GP: Vettel Predicts “Better” Imola F1 Outing After Bahrain Debacle

Sebastian Vettel didn’t have the start in his new chapter with Aston Martin in the opening weekend in Bahrain. The German has stated the car felt better and believes the team can have a better weekend at Imola.

In the first practice session on Friday, the four-time world champion didn’t make it to the top ten. Vettel came fourteenth with a lap time of 1.17.984. While in FP2, things didn’t improve for the Aston Martin driver, he came fifteenth with a 1..17.092. time.

Vettel hopes that he can find the pace around the track for Saturday’s qualifying session. Moreover, he looks to redeem himself and bring home his first points of the season.

Sebastian Vettel feels the team will achieve a better result at Imola than Bahrain

Being asked how the car felt, he said, “It was a bit better, so we brought some bits. I think they are small improvements. So generally the car feel was better. I think it was good to digest in the last race, and I think we should be a little bit better here.”

“So let’ see tomorrow. Today was with an one-hour session, they are quite busy, so it is always clear to get the laps and stuff, but tomorrow we know a bit more.” He concluded.

Vettel feels the team hopes are high despite poor weekend at Bahrain

Aston Martin didn’t get the return to Formula One they wanted. Vettel had a grid penalty and finished fifteenth in the race, while his teammate, Lance Stroll came home tenth and only brought home a single point for the Silverstone-based squad.

Vettel said, “Well the team is great, I think the spirit is great in the team and I feel really comfortable, so I’m enjoying the work and the efforts that are going in.”

He added, “We have a little bit of new bits for this weekend. Hopefully, they will make us a little bit faster; we struggled a little bit with pace in the first race but it’s only the start of the season, so yeah, I think we should have a better race here.”

The second race of the season is tomorrow, the German hopes that the race at Imola will be better than the one at Bahrain aims to score his first points in his British green overalls. What are your predictions for Vettel’s race at Imola? Let us know in the comments below.
