Kyle Daukaus vs Phil Hawes- A Fight for Recognition in the UFC Middleweight Division

UFC Fight Night, on May 8, will witness the return of former Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw. This will be a major event, as Dillashaw will make his return after over 2 years against Cory Sandhagen. UFC wants the card to look stacked with young and top talent. Therefore, according to sources, the fight makers have added a new fight on the card.

Kyle Daukaus and Phil Hawes will face each other in a Middleweight showdown. Daukaus was already scheduled for a fight against Aliaskhab Khizriev on ABC 2 under Holland vs Vettori. Unfortunately, the fight was called off due to covid-19 complications.

Phil Hawes is on an active 3 fight win streak in the UFC and fights in an Orthodox stance. On the other hand, his opponent Kyle Daukaus has won 2 out of his 3 fights and is a southpaw.

Kyle Daukaus and Phil Hawes will look to get on the main card

This is a crucial time for both fighters, as it’s a good time to make some name in the Middleweight division. The stage is set and now all they need to do is put a performance for the fans. A fine performance here could provide great recognition, as it could place the winner from the Preliminary card to the main card.

Both Kyle Daukaus and Phil Hawes have 10 wins each to their name. But they have fought little in the UFC. Phil Hawes has a better chance of jumping up into the main card if he emerges victorious, as a win will result in 4 straight wins in the organization. Whereas, Kyle Daukaus may have to take a long run before actually getting up to the main card.

However, it’s not impossible if Daukaus is successful in stopping ‘The Megatron’ Phil Hawes by a devastating knockout. In doing so, he might find himself in the limelight in a brief interval of time. On paper, the fight looks like a close contest as both have almost an identical record.

Who will win the Middleweight showdown between Daukaus and Hawes? Let us know.
