‘Let’s Do 2 Belts!’- Conor McGregor Has a Surprise Proposition for UFC 264
Conor McGregor will enter one of the biggest fights of his career at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier. But McGregor wants to raise the stakes even further as he wants the UFC to introduce two-belts for his trilogy fight against ‘The Diamond’. ‘The Notorious’ previously asked the promotion to introduce a McGregor belt.
Now, he has gone one step ahead as he wants the promotion to re-affirm his status as the first simultaneous two-division champion in UFC history. Apart from the McGregor belt, he wants an RMF belt on the line.
The Irish fighter tweeted, “Let’s do two belts actually @ufc. Champ Champ always does two. We’ve got “The McGregor Belt” currently in creation, and now we’ve got the all new “RMF” belt. “The Richest Motherf**ker Belt”. This way we can put both the rubies and the emeralds to good use.”

McGregor confirmed his status as the champ-champ when he defeated Eddie Alvarez in scintillating fashion at UFC 205 in 2016. However, he has fought only three times in the UFC since. Unsurprisingly, his inactivity has taken a toll on his pedigree as a fighter. McGregor has dropped two out of his last three bouts.
Is Conor McGregor still an elite lightweight?
McGrgeor’slast two defeats inside the Octagon have both come in the 155lbs division. A 2018 defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov and a loss to Dustin Poirier earlier this year, has put some good amount of stain in his record. His score with Poirier is now set at 1-1 as he has a win over the Louisiana native dating back to 2014.
But a win is a must for the Irish fighter in the trilogy fight if he is to re-affirm to the fans that he is still a top-level fighter. His legacy as the biggest draw in UFC history will be unmatched. However, in the earlier stages of his career, he proved that he is indeed one of the best fighters in the world. If ‘The Notorious‘ still possesses the finger, remains to be seen.
