Milwaukee Bucks’ Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo Explains Why He Opted To Miss Out On Games

Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is a physical phenom. Rarely missing any games, Giannis is one of the most explosive forwards in the league. But all of it changed this season.

For the first time in his career, the ‘Greek Freak’ missed more than two games in a row. Playing against the Blazers, Giannis injured his knee before the game. But despite the injury, Giannis put on an absolute show, scoring an insane 47 points.

The Greek Freak missed the next six games. He recently made his return to the roster in a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Naturally, the Bucks are being careful with Giannis’ injury and want him to be at his best for the jam-packed playoffs.

After his recent 15-point performance against the Hawks, the ‘Greek Freak’ spoke to media. The reigning 2-time MVP explained why he opted to miss out on six games.

“I felt pain. Like in the Portland game, I was in pain. Before the game, after the game, while I was playing the game. When I tried to play in Golden State, too, I was in pain.

“So, you can still play in pain, but at the end of the day it’s going to get worse over time. The goal is to, we all know what the goal is as a team, is to go all the way. At the end of the day, you realize if it’s worth it or not to risk it now.

He added, “So, if you asked me a year ago, two years ago, I’d say yeah, it’s probably worth it, I don’t like missing games, I’ll play, I don’t care about pain. But at the end of the day I try to be positive, this year I’ve tried to be more mature so I feel that it as the right thing to do to stay a little bit out.”

Giannis is back just in time for the Bucks. Given that there are still about 20 games left in the regular season, the ‘Greek Freak‘ will be ready to roll in no time.

With a great supporting cast around their superstar, the Bucks will hope that they finally win a championship.

Can Giannis finally win his maiden NBA title this season?
