Fast & Furious 9: UK release date, cast, trailer, filming delays & more
Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise were treated to another trailer for Fast 9 this week, revealing John Cena’s cameo in the movie.
As well as getting a glimpse at John as Jakob Toretto – the little brother and nemesis of Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto – the trailer promised a small appearance from the late Paul Walker.
Dom was seen looking at photos of Paul’s character, Brian O’Conner, on an iPad as he reminisced on past times.
As well as the sentimental aspects, the trailer also promised all the high-octane action and impossible stunts the Fast & Furious films are known for ahead of its release this summer.
With the release date just a couple of months away, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming movie, F9.
What is the plot of Fast & Furious 9?
While little is known about the details, Fast 9 will follow on from the events of 2017’s The Fate of the Furious.
This instalment will see Dominic Toretto and his family face off against his younger brother Jakob who has teamed up with their enemy Cipher, and who holds a personal vendetta against his sibling.
When is the Fast & Furious 9 UK release date?
F9 is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on July 8.
Who is in the cast of Fast & Furious 9?
Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez return as Dominic Toretto and Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson reprises his role as Roman Pearce and Ludacris also returns as Tej Parker.
John Cena has joined the franchise as JakobToretto, brother of Dominic and Mia Toretto, played by Jordana Brewster.
Nathalie Emmanuel also stars as Megan Ramsey, Charlize Theron plays Cipher, Helen Mirren is Magdalene Shaw and Sung Kang is Han Lue.

Was the release for Fast & Furious 9 delayed?
Yes, due to the restrictions caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the release of Fast 9 was delayed significantly.
Original slated to drop on May 22, 2020, the release date was pushed back over a year due to cinemas being forced to close for social distancing.
It was one of many blockbuster films which were pushed back by months due to the ongoing disruption and closures caused by the pandemic.
