Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard celebrates getting his Covid-19 vaccine: ‘The sun seems a bit brighter today!’
Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard has celebrated getting his first Covid-19 vaccine, saying he was ‘grateful’ in a post shared with fans.
The presenter posted a picture of himself rolling up his sleeves and receiving the jab at the Harlequins stadium Twickenham Stoop in London.
The presenter also posed for a selfie with his wife Annie Shephard after celebrating.
Ben wore a mask during his appointment and thanked medical staff after the jab.
He wrote: ‘#JabbyMcjabface First one done! thanks to all the team @harlequins wonderfully efficient friendly staff, and a cracking setting too. I’d say the sun seems a bit brighter today! #grateful.’
Ben also received a sticker following the jab and showed it off proudly on his Instagram.
He’s the latest Good Morning Britain presenter to receive the vaccine, following Susanna Reid and Alex Beresford.
Susanna got her dose last month and shared her thanks to the medical staff who attended to her.
‘Thumbs up to all the hard-working staff & volunteers at St Thomas’ Hospital vaccination centre (where Boris Johnson also got his today) on a record day for jabs.’
It comes after Ben became emotional as he celebrated the news of Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper returning home after a year in hospital after contracting Covid-19, describing it as ‘remarkable’.
Meanwhile, a woman diagnosed with motor neurone disease who appeared as a contestant on Ben’s show Tipping Point was able to get her voice back thanks to footage from the game show.
