Horse racing tips: Templegate reckons this 12-1 shot can win Scottish Grand National at Ayr

TEMPLEGATE takes on Sunday’s racing and heads to Ayr and the Scottish Grand National for his NAP of the day.

SOLDIER OF LOVE (3.35 Ayr, nap)

Good ground will bring the best out in Paul Nicholls’ runner who has been kept fresh and aimed at this race for a long time.

He has a fair weight and looks open to plenty of improvement in these conditions.

DANYAH (3.20 Newbury, nb)

He was an excellent fourth in the Lincoln at Donny on comeback. He should be sharper for that run and has a bright future in top mile handicaps

THYME WHITE (2.25 Ayr, treble)

He was one of a few in this race to run well in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham last time. He didn’t quite get up the Cheltenham hill and will find this challenge more suitable.

Keeps winning and can defy rise in the weights.

1.50     Dublin Four     

Low weight and improved effort at Newbury last time out.

2.25     Thyme White (treble) 

Has been running in some top races this spring.

No match for Shishkin last time but still ran well in Arkle.

Will like this ground and has been trained for this race.

4.10     Wetlands         

Improving fast and has a lot more to offer over hurdles.

4.45     Floating Rock  

Good run over 2m last time and this trip suits better.

5.20     Flemenstide    

Easy winner at Exeter last time and can defy penalty.

1.00     Snow Lantern  

Well bred and showed lots of promise when second on debut.

1.35     Al Aasy 

Two good wins last season and should make a nice four-year-old.

2.10     Alcohol Free    

Cheveley Park winner so sets a high standard today.

2.45     Chindit 

Won on first three starts and is proven in a higher grade than this.

3.20     Danyah (nb)    

Good fourth on comeback in the Lincoln and off same mark today.

3.55     Foxes Tales      

Promising second on debut and yard has been in good form.

4.30     Glen Savage    

Well bred and comes from top team of Gosden and Dettori.

5.05     Inchicore         

Good handicap win last time and looks on fair weight today.

Went close at Catterick and should be right there again.

12.15   Furius De Ciergues      

Consistent and ran well at Newcastle last time out.

Should be good enough but this is a match and one to just watch.

Consistent and has run well against stronger rivals than these.

Wind op helped bring improvement last time and can go close again.

Plenty in hand when winning at Ludlow last time out.
