John Cena Sr Believes Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks Were Instructed to Cry before their WrestleMania Main Event

Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks stole the show in a brilliant main event at WrestleMania 37. Their match won the headline spot ahead of Drew McIntyre vs Bobby Lashley and delivered in spades. Despite the quality, certain people had some complaints against the match.

John Cena Sr criticises WrestleMania main event

In seventeen minutes, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair told a wonderful story of athleticism vs experience. The clash of styles generated a fantastic main event, featuring high spots and superb storytelling. What added a layer of reality to the match was the emotion the women showed after the opening bell.

Both Sasha and Bianca had tears in their eyes as the crowd serenaded them with cheers. While the moment was special, John Cena Sr thought the tears took away from the match quality since it felt fake. Speaking to Boston Wresting MWF, Cena Sr made a few bold claims.

“I’m going right back to where the fault belongs: W-R-I-T-E-R-S. Who wrote that session for those young ladies to come in and start crying? Somebody had to write it. No, I don’t believe that [that the crying was real]. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes [Banks and Belair were instructed to cry].” [H/T SK Wrestling]

“I thought there were a few highlights in that match, but I will say this to you. As a guy, and you know I’m an advocate of women’s professional wrestling, I backed them before they even started this [Women’s Evolution]. I think it lacked a lot of luster and I don’t think the opening [crying] helped put any more polish on the show.”

Bianca Belair celebrates with The Street Profits on SmackDown

On the recent episode of SmackDown, Bianca Belair celebrated her big win at WrestleMania 37 with her husband, Montez Ford. Ford and Angelo Dawkins, the Street Profits, challenged for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships after the celebration with Belair.

She delivered a typical winner’s speech, thanking her family for their support and Sasha Banks for a hell of a match. Belair gave Banks a horrible scar, courtesy of a whip from her braid, which Belair hoped Sasha didn’t take too hard. She then told her husband to win the tag titles since they’re only wearing gold in their household.

It would’ve been a glorious moment to see the Street Profits hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, along with Belair holding the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Unfortunately, they were humbled by Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
