Calling all Line of Duty fans! There’s a chance that you’ve seen DCI Joanne Davidson before.

The shows latest bent copper has also appeared in Harry Potter – and viewers of the show are only just realising.

Joanne, played by actress Kelly Macdonald, previously starred in the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two, playing an integral role.

Kelly played Helena Ravenclaw, the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, who found the Ravenclaw Hogwarts house.

When Harry is looking for Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem, one of the seven horcruxes created by Voldemort to keep his soul safe, he approaches Helena Ravenclaw’s ghost for assistance.

In an attempt to get him to leave, she tells him that she has already been questioned about its location by another person.

But once Harry tells Helena that he is going to destroy it, she eventually informs him that the horcrux is ‘in the location where it is hidden,’ aka the room of requirement.

Fans took to Twitter to express their joy in figuring out the connection.

‘OMG HELENA RAVENCLAW IS BENT COPPER JO DAVIDSON,’ one eager Twitter user penned.

‘When you realise that DCI Jo Davidson is also the ghost Helena Ravenclaw in Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2…’ another wrote.

A third person commented: ‘I was today years old when I realised DCI Jo Davidson from #LineOfDuty is also the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw from #HarryPotter and the Deathly Hallows.’

Kelly is currently keeping viewers on the edge of their seat as Joanne in the popular BBC drama.

Her character, who is now the Acting Detective Superintendent for the Murder Investigation Team, seems to have ties to the OCG gang.

After seeing her use a private chatroom to speak with an unknown individual and finding about her secret burner phones, and her questionable relationship with Ryan Pilkington, fans are convinced she’s a bent copper.

Line of Duty airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
