Regis Prograis Demolishes Ivan Redkach With a Brutal Body Shot

Regis Prograis closed the showdown with Ivan Redkach with a brutal body shot in round six that forced the Ukrainian to take a knee. However, the win looked controversial as commentators doubted it as a groin shot. But the replay showed it to be a legal punch thrown by Prograis, as he walked off with the last laugh.

Although Ivan Redkach had his minor moments in the ring, it didn’t turn out to be fruitful. Following several close collisions, he ultimately fell prey to Prograis’s prowess. Despite a lot of effort to regain his stance, the 35-year failed to make it to the count.

The body shot he received had perfect timing and was loaded with power. So, the damage was quite evident. While the referee hesitated to call off the contest immediately, there was no coming back from that shot. So Regis Prograis was rightfully handed the win.

Unlike most of the other fights in the event, Prograis vs Redkach was a traditional boxing encounter between two active elites. The super lightweight fight had the attention of several fight fans, and it thoroughly lived up to the hype.

In the initial stage, both men took their time before landing the bigger shots. It brought in the true essence of boxing. However, Prograis appeared the aggressor as the rounds went ahead. ‘Rougarou’ Prograis had a big moment in round four as he almost KOed his opposition. He followed a similar stance in round five and had a clear advancement in the judges’ scorecard.

However, the American boxer didn’t let his fate go to the judges. With a thunderous right hook to the body, Prograis doomed down Redkach to the canvas and comfortably bagged his win in round six. 26-1 as a professional, Prograis will now aim for the bigger fights in his career. That said, a world title is also on the road, and the 32-year old looks relevant in the current championship picture.
