The Grand Tour producer Andy Wilman has teased fans with a tantalising first look at the upcoming Scotland special, which is closer than ever.

The clip shows the retro-inspired opening credits of the new instalment of the Amazon Prime Video show, which viewers have been waiting a long time for.

While Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May do not feature in the clip, the scenic shots show some of the country’s landmarks.

The video begins with the Forth Bridge, which is located west of Edinburgh, as well as cityscapes and footage of idyllic countryside.

It’s sure to excite fans of the series, and while no release date has been announced the special is expected later this year.

The instalment was filmed in between lockdowns in 2020.

Hammond previously spoke about the new special on Good Morning Britain and teased the future of the series, saying: ‘There’s another special coming up and we managed to get one done.

‘I mean, it’s difficult going anywhere because obviously it’s about travel and that’s been off the cards. But there is another one coming out later on this year. I don’t know when though.’

On the future of their international exploits for the series, May also said they weren’t abandoning their overseas trips permanently.

He said this week: ‘We’ll do some bigger ones in more far-flung and exotic locations.

Meanwhile, presenter James has said the reason behind his ability to get ‘well buff’ in lockdown is due to not being around The Grand Tour co-hosts Jeremy and Richard.

According to the former Top Gear host, he’s managed to get fit on his bicycle during the pandemic mainly due to not having them around to take the mick out of him for doing so.

Previous instalments of The Grand Tour are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
