2021 NFL Draft: Why Kyle Pitts is the Perfect Fit for Atlanta Falcons
In the last decade, the NFL has seen a host of tight ends dominate. The likes of Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle, have set various records with respect to receiving yards and touchdowns in the league. We are about to be blessed with another such talent at tight end in the form of Kyle Pitts.
The University of Florida starlet has been impressive during his 3-year NCAA career. Pitts has thrown for 1,492 receiving yards with 18 passing TDs on 100 receptions.
The 20-year old is tipped to be the first non-QB to be drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. But where will his landing spot in the league be?

Kyle Pitts to Atlanta Falcons as 4th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Speaking on the latest segment of GMFB, co-host Peter Schrager suggested that Atlanta might be a possible arrival point for the highly-regarded Kyle Pitts.
“Today’s focus will be that man right there. Florida tight end Kyle Pitts and I believe his perfect fit is with the Atlanta Falcons fourth overall to Atlanta makes a lot of sense to me…The Atlanta Falcons do have even better talent around him. You look at the Atlanta Falcons offense on paper with Kyle Pitts.”
“And I don’t know if you’re looking at it this way. It’s Julio, Ridley engaged at wide receiver, and then you got Hayden Hurst and Kyle Pitts a tight end….That is nasty. And the last point, I think that Ryan could still swing it, I think Matt Ryan can still play at 36 years old, the guy could still throw the ball and look at what Ryan’s contract situation is,” Schrager said on the show.
Apart from Pitts the other two non-QB’s who are attracting interest ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft are De’Vonta Smith (Alabama) and Ja’Marr Chase (LSU). Other players who are also getting second chances include Penei Sewell, Najee Harris, and Patrick Surtain II.
It will be interesting to see if the Falcons choose to back Matt Ryan this year. They might just be tempted to splurge and go all-out to draft someone like Trey Lance or Mac Jones.
