This fight was highly anticipated as it marked the return of two greats of combat sports; however, something happened during the fight that caught all the attention.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya appeared at the event and joined the Triller broadcast team ahead of the fight. The ‘Golden Boy’ was there to be a part of the team for the build-up towards the Askren vs Jake Paul fight.

During the broadcast, the boxing legend seemed to lose his focus, repeating things and slurring constantly. It became quite clear that Oscar was not quite in his senses and thus people from all around the world started talking about the same. Many fans condemned De La Hoya for his actions, while others expressed concerns for the man’s health.

After the fight many people took to social media to comment on the situation and Mir was one of them, Mir wrote, “Regarding the commentary during my fight last night. I could be angry, and I could laugh too, but addiction is no joke, I know.

“I sincerely hope that those around Oscar get him the help he needs. He was a great champion & ambassador for boxing. I’d like to think he can be again.”
