Damian Lillard Left Confused By Kevin Durant’s Recent Comments About His Top Five Teammates

Brooklyn Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant has had a host of quality teammates in his NBA career. Be it his time in the Oklahoma City Thunder, or in the Golden State Warriors, or currently in the Nets, KD has played with some of the top players in the league.

KD recently made an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. In one of the biggest talking points on the podcast, Durant spoke about the top five teammates he has played with.

As expected, the 32-year-old mentioned Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson but initially omitted Russell Westbrook from the list and included Serge Ibaka to the list instead.

This particular clip spread like wildfire on NBA twitter. Be it fans or players, everyone took notice of the clip. Some fans even attributed KD’s comments to the beef Brodie and KD had. Portland Trail Blazers’ superstar Damian Lillard also reacted to the same and was understandably  confused.

Upon closer inspection, it was apparent why. Within the next thirty seconds of the original clip, Durant said that he indeed forgot to include Westbrook and went on to say that he was the fourth best player he has ever played with.

While Westbrook and Durant might have been fierce competitors on the court, they surely have a mutual respect for one another. Given their history on the court, it was clear why NBA Twitter reacted in a such a manner to this clip.

Can Kevin Durant win his third championship this season?

While Westbrook currently finds himself in a Wizards team struggling to make it to the play-in tournament, KD is in hunt for his third championship. Playing with Kyrie and Harden, Durant has a real chance of winning it all this time around.

One of the biggest talking points, however, are his ongoing injury issues. The 2-time Finals MVP might have looked explosive on the court but has missed many games this season.

After missing around two months of action due to a hamstring injury, KD was looking to get back in rhythm. But it clearly didn’t pan out that way as the 32-year-old suffered from a thigh contusion in their latest loss.

The Nets need to be extra careful with Durant for now. Given how important he is to the team, we might not see KD back on the floor for a week or so. The Nets will hope that KD is back in no time and regain his form before the postseason.
