Dustin Johnson Reveals His PGA Tour Schedule for May 2021

Dustin Johnson entered the RBC Heritage 2021 as the mighty favorite but finished the tournament tied for 13th place. While Johnson achieved his career-best finish at Harbour Town, it wasn’t up to the expectations. However, he needs to put this result in the bag and move onto the next phase of the PGA Tour calendar.

The 2020-21 PGA Tour calendar is jam-packed, and there are currently three major tournaments remaining. We saw the 2021 Masters take center stage last week, and Dustin Johnson failed to defend his title.

Johnson surprisingly missed the cut at the Masters and marked his name as one of the few defending champions to have missed the cut in the tournament’s history. He followed it up with a T46 finish at RBC Heritage 2021 and later informed of his plans for the next phase of tournaments.

Dustin Johnson aiming to get back on song for the PGA Championship

Dustin Johnson achieved zero Top 10 finishes in his last five starts. While this metric can’t say a lot about his consistency, it does imply that Johnson has not been playing his best game lately. The World No. 1 is grinding hard to get back into form for the upcoming PGA Championship.

Johnson met with the media after his final round 66 at Harbour Town Golf Links. When asked about his upcoming schedule he said: “I’m playing Tampa. Tampa, and then probably the Nelson and PGA.”

The 2021 PGA Championship is scheduled for May 20-23 and will be played at Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. There are four tournaments that will take place before the second major of the year, and Johnson is playing in two of them.

Dustin Johnson is currently planning to participate in the Valspar Championship (April 29-May 2) and the AT&T Byron Nelson (May 13-16), leading upto the PGA Championship. These three tournaments will make up for Johnson’s tour schedule in May

The 2021 Valspar Championship is the first event Johnson would head to in preparation for the PGA Championship. He finished sixth at the Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead) course in 2020, and a similar performance will certainly boost his confidence this year.

Johnson’s recent Top 10 finish was at the Genesis Invitational. Things have changed a lot since then, and the 24-time PGA Tour winner needs to get back to winning ways.
