Ginny and Georgia renewed for season two after huge Netflix success
Good news Ginny and Georgia fans – the netflix series has been renewed for a second season.
Yep, season two of the addictive family drama will be coming our way after the first season ended on that big ol’ cliffhanger.
Ginny and Georgia is a mother-daughter drama that follows a 30-year-old mom Georgia (Brianne Howey), her angsty 15-year-old Virginia (Antonia Gentry), and her young son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) as they settle down in a picturesque New England town after several years on the run from Georgia’s troublesome past.
The first season was helmed by an all-female creative team, including first-time showrunner/executive producer Debra J. Fisher, first-time creator/executive producer Sarah Lampert, and director/executive producer Anya Adams.
In a statement to Deadline, Debra and Sarah said: ‘We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny & Georgia. We’re especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for season two.’
The show renewal isn’t much of a surprise considering the fact the show managed to draw in 52million viewers in its first 28 days.
The second season will comprise of another 10 episodes and will finally let us know what happens next after Ginny rode off with Austin.
We have to imagine Georgia will also have plenty to worry about with the private investigator still very much on her tail.
The renewal news may come as a surprise to some after the show faced intense backlash over a dig made at singer Taylor Swift during the season finale.
Ginny And Georgia is available now on Netflix.
