Jake Paul Calls Out Dustin Poirier After Clarifying His Stance on Fighting Mike Perry

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul took to social media and went after Dustin Poirier for suggesting that he fight Mike Perry. Chiefly, ‘The Problem Child’ sparred against Mike Perry in the lead-up to his fight against Ben Askren for Triller Fight Club. The training certainly went a long way as Jake Paul turned in a show-stopping performance against Askren.

Dustin Poirier suggested that Mike Perry and Jake Paul lace up the gloves in a professional boxing match. Paul responded to ‘The Diamond’ by sharing post-sparring footage of Perry saying that Paul got the better of him. Furthermore, Jake Paul would go on to turn the table on Poirier and call him out for a boxing bout.

Jake Paul is right in the middle of a hailstorm when it comes to being called out on social media. Following his first-round demolition of Askren via knockout, several fighters from the MMA community took aim at Paul. Tyron Woodley, Dillon Danis, and BJ Penn were amongst the many who wanted a piece of Paul and Dustin Poirier is now in the mix.

Dustin Poirier and Jake Paul: An overview

While it seems virtually impossible that the aforementioned athletes will ever cross paths with each other, stranger things have happened in combat sports. Dustin Poirier is set to take on Conor McGregor for the third time in July. McGregor and Paul have had some run-ins as of late. Should Poirier get past McGregor again, it’s possible that his name is the one that Jake Paul is calling out to.

As for Jake Paul, he’ll be sitting pretty looking at the fight offers that are sure to come his way after Saturday night. He has managed to win big off his celebrity cachet and could grow to become one of the biggest draws in combat sports.

In order to do that, he’ll have to keep winning, and facing Dustin Poirier at this point in his career might be premature. A viable option going forward could be Dillon Danis who is 2-0 in MMA and is a big draw. Moreover, Danis and Paul have bad blood brewing between them and this could lead to an explosive match-up.
