‘Still Dominating’ – NBA Legend Magic Johnson Backs Stephen Curry for MVP

Stephen Curry is having an excellent season with the Golden State Warriors. The former unanimous MVP is playing at an elite level this year, defying his own high expectations.

Despite his strong performances, the Golden State Warriors have been struggling this year. Curry has been keeping them afloat this season, and one NBA legend thinks he deserves the MVP trophy for his work.

Magic Backs Stephen Curry for MVP

NBA legend Magic Johnson took to Twitter to give props to Stephen Curry. He noted that Curry should be considered one of, if not the absolute favorite to win the MVP this season.

Curry has led the Golden State Warriors with fantastic play and has been the number one offensive threat for the team. Magic gave his seal of approval on Steph being the MVP for this season.

Magic’s comments garnered a lot of agreement, as fans have enjoyed watching Steph Curry this season. Curry missed much of the previous season last year due to a hand injury.

In his absence, and without Klay Thomspon, the Warriors ended the season with the worst record in the NBA. For their poor performances, they were able to secure the number two overall draft pick in the 2020 draft and selected James Wiseman.

Steph doing everything to help the Warriors

This season, Klay Thompson was supposed to return with Steph. However, he suffered a different injury during the off-season, tearing his Achilles.

This meant that Steph would have to carry the load for the Warriors by himself. The Warriors traded for Kelly Oubre Jr. to help him, but Oubre hasn’t been able to do much. All of the Warriors’ success this season is in large part due to Steph.

For the season, Stephen Curry is averaging 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He is currently on track to beat his scoring numbers from his 2016 unanimous MVP season.

Curry is clearly having a magical season on the offensive end. But it hasn’t been enough to spurt the Golden State Warriors to a top seed in the Western Conference.
