The Chase player reveals partner is a Mark Labbett mega-fan as he awkwardly admits she might root for The Beast
THE Chase player reveals his partner is a huge fan of ‘The Beast’ Mark Labbett and even admits she might root for him.
Jim impressed Bradley Walsh and Mark Labbett with his performance on Monday’s show, with his partner Cilla rooting for him back home.
The retired journalist admitted he did not want to face The Beast because of his partner’s admiration for him, but his wishes were not granted as Mark came out to face him.
When asked which chaser he would like to take on, Jim replied: “The lady in my life is a mega-fan of Mark, my initial reaction is anyone but Mark.”
After Mark appeared Jim looked to the ground and said: “I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
After a strong start, it looked as though Jim was going to make it through the first round.
Unfortunately, he soon came unstuck and was dumped from the completion empty-handed.
Host Bradley Walsh, who did not expect Jim to provide such stiff competition, said: “Didn’t see that coming.”
Mark agreed and thought Jim should have gone for the higher offer.
He admitted: “I thought he missed a trick by not going high.”

Jack, who was also on Jim’s team, suffered the same fate when it was his turn to face The Beast, as he eliminated from the competition.
The final two team members Sarah and Nuaula, would make it through to the final round.
The pair only managed to g 14 ahead of the chaser, but they managed to push him back four times after capitalising on his mistakes.
Sadly it still wasn’t enough as Mark caught them and the duo walked away empty-handed.
