The Circle’s Andy Smith is no longer talking to Manrika Khaira: ‘Out of everyone, I would say we’re not close’
The latest season of The Circle was filled with drama – and it doesn’t seem to have stopped yet.
Following their explosive fallout in season 3, Andy Smith has revealed that he no longer speaks to Manrika Khaira.
Andy, 34, came in third place on the hit Channel 4 programme, with Manrika, 24, finishing in second while Natalya Platonova, 30, was named champion.
Andy and Manrika had a rollercoaster time on the show, going from ‘Circle siblings’ to enemies, before managing to sort through their differences before the finale.
But their relationship has changed once again.
Months after filming the show, the father-of-two opened up to OK! online on his and Manrika’s relationship, and how he found watching the show from his hospital bed.
When asked if he and Manrika were in contact anymore, Andy admitted: ‘The truth is no. That’s not because of any bad blood, we have a group chat all of us, but it would be wrong of me to say we’ve had a lot of dialogue.
‘When the Tally situation happened, we had a nice conversation because that was when the heat really started for her and I just said, “Look, I’m an influencer with you a lot, I’m going to go through some of this with you, we’re here.”
‘But no, out of everyone, I would say we’re not close but that’s life isn’t it? It’s been seven months and you have to be realistic, you can’t watch what you watch on TV and just wipe all that away because it hurts.’
Andy, who suffers from Crohn’s disease, also revealed that he had to watch the show from hospital due to a flare-up mid-series. He said that watching their fallout on-screen was challenging.
He added that he ‘wasn’t prepared for the toll’ the show took on his family.
Previously chatting to Metro.co.uk, the company director admitted things definitely weren’t as rosy as they seemed on our screens in their make-up chat.
He explained that the night he and Manrika made up on TV, two hours’ worth of footage wasn’t shown. The conversation was a lot more brutal than the edit let on, and it left the duo realising that they could never repair the friendship.
‘I was all out for her at this point,’ he confessed. ‘There was a probably a three day period and the conversation where we patch it together was really heavy… If I’m honest, it was a row. It was a blazing row.
‘For me, I was aware of what was going on, because once you work out who is rating who, I could sense that she turned Femi and Pippa. I knew I was being burned at the stake, so to speak.
‘I suppose I was a bit dumbfounded by someone’s desire to win, and almost their kind of lack of perception of what was going on, because I just couldn’t see her game plan as a long term one, because she was burning through friendships.’
The Circle is available to watch on All4 now, with all episodes on catch up.
