‘Brush Yourself and Move On’- Dereck Chisora Advises Daniel Dubois After Scratchy Loss

Often compared with Mike Tyson, a young Daniel Dubois was on a tear in the heavyweight division until suffering his sole loss against ‘Juggernaut’ Joe Joyce in October 2020. The 23-year-old fell prey to Joyce’s experience and was knocked out of the contest.

However, 15-1 as a professional; ‘Dynamite’ Dubois is still a threat to the heavyweight roster, especially with 14 KOs under his name. Although several critics have put their claws on the youngster, veteran heavyweight Dereck Chisora has his faith and respect for Dubois.

‘War’ Chisora is currently training for his upcoming fight against Joseph Parker. Meanwhile, he connected with the fans via IFL TV and talked about several ongoing issues in the boxing world. Additionally, he also shed his opinion on Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois.

“He (Dubois) is good man. I don’t know why people want to give him stikbot. He is doing well, he is doing what he does best. I told him don’t worry about what happened. Just brush yourself and move on, it’s boxing,” said Chisora.

One of the hardest hitters in the division, Dereck Chisora has also suffered scratching losses in his career. He currently boasts a record of 32 wins 10 losses, with 23 wins coming via Knockouts. While the 37-year-old is still trying to resurrect himself in the title ride, his advice might be helpful for Dubois. The heavyweight division is full of youngsters and top-tier elites. So, Dubois will have to regain his dominance to reach the top.

What’s next for Daniel Dubois?

The Briton’s last appearance against Joe Joyce was a gateway to the world title ride, but ‘Dynamite’ can enter the mix once again. Honed under Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, he has never run out of viable contenders. So, we can expect him to return soon.

On bagging a win, Daniel Dubois will once again be relevant and he can rightfully demand a championship-level fight. Adding to that, a rematch with ‘Juggernaut’ can also allure him and all the hardcore fight fans. But it is still too early to predict so.
