‘Keep Fighting The Good Fight’- Dustin Poirier Encourages Manny Pacquiao In A Retweet
UFC lightweight maestro Dustin Poirier is gearing up for his trilogy bout with Conor McGregor. Both are going to headline the event at UFC 264 on July 10, 2021.
While Poirier is busy preparing for the fight, he hasn’t really given up on his philanthropic works. The ‘Diamond’ is one of the many good guys present in the combat world who have helped in showering humanity outside the octagon.
Recently, he teamed up with Filipino professional boxer Manny Pacquiao to help the homeless in Uganda. Pacquiao took to Twitter and also urged other people to join their movement in fighting for Batwa Pygmies of Uganda and other homeless citizens of the world.
He tweeted, “In the Philippines, there is a value ingrained in our spirit called Bayanihan – being one with the community. In that spirit, I call on everyone to join @DustinPoirier@thebigpygmy and myself as we help fight for the Batwa Pygmies in Uganda and the homeless of our world.”
‘Diamond’ took to Twitter and in a retweet, asked him and all others to continue the good fight. He said, “Keep fighting the good fight!”

According to Poirier, his foundation, the good fight foundation with collaboration with others, is also fighting to provide clean drinking water to the Echuya Batwa community of Uganda.
This is not it. Last year amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the foundation provided 1000 meals to the employees of three different hospitals in his native soil, Lafayette.
After his iconic match with ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242, both had swapped shirts. They sold those to raise a fund for Dustin’s foundation. Dustin had even auctioned his fight kit to raise funds.
How Dustin Poirier has performed lately?
‘The Diamond’ (27-6) is on a two-match win streak. He has only last once in his last 7 fights that came against ‘The Eagle’ at UFC 242. Earlier this year, he avenged his previous loss against McGregor in 2014 by beating him this time via second-round TKO at UFC 257. This was the first time ‘The Notorious’ lost via KO/TKO in his entire MMA career.
Prior to that, he had beaten Dan Hooker at UFC on ESPN: Poirier vs Hooker on June 27, 2020. He won that fight via unanimous decision at the closure of the fifth round.
Poirier will be eager to end his rivalry once it for all against McGregor and the same goes for ‘The Notorious’. The winner of the bout will be a sure-shot contender for the lightweight title going ahead. Two masters of the game fighting all out, nothing gets bigger than that. Who do you think will claim the bragging right?
