‘Mind Boggling Stuff’ – Warriors’ Steve Kerr Compares Current Stephen Curry Streak to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant

Stephen Curry is on a strike, the likes of which we have never seen before. The Golden State Warriors guard is playing possibly the best basketball of his career. In the last 10 games he has played, Curry has been an absolute juggernaut. After his latest showing against the Philadelphia 76ers, Steve Kerr said he has never seen a run like this in basketball history, including by some of the all-time greats.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke after Stephen Curry‘s incredible 49 points against the Philadelphia 76ers for a win. He noted that Raymond Ridder of the Warriors keeps telling him how good Curry’s streak is.

Curry currently has 21 career games where he scored 10 or more three-point shots. The second after Curry is his teammate Klay Thompson, with five. To put that into context, Steph Curry is close to matching that record by the end of this week if he continues at this pace.

“Raymond keeps me up to date on all that stuff. I understand that’s 21 career games with 10 or more threes. And Klay is second with 5, and Steph’s had 4 in the last five nights. Mind-boggling stuff…”

How does Curry’s streak compare to Kobe and Jordan’s?

Kerr added that he has never seen a streak like this, from a shooting standpoint. Kerr compared scoring streaks from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Both players were able to score the ball with great ease. However, neither player went on these streaks based on their shooting. Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, but he is surpassing even his own expectations.

“Not from a shooting standpoint. I’ve seen Kobe Bryant early in his career have a stretch where he went nuts. And obviously, Michael Jordan had some stretches where he just scored like crazy. But obviously, nobody has ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game. And even by Steph’s own lofty standards, this is above and beyond.”
