Warriors’ Stephen Curry Surpasses Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant While Continuing Historic Streak

The Golden State Warriors were just made to put an end to their four-game winning streak by the Boston Celtics. However, they did not take long to get back on the horse as they just defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 107-96. The Sixers’ impeccable record has kept them at the top in the Western Conference but this was clearly a night for the Warriors. Or more like a night for their star player, Steph Curry, who just surpassed legends Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan in an incredible record.

Steph Curry outshines MJ and Kobe

Getting as many victories as possible is essential for the Dubs to land a place in the play-in tournament at least. Right now they stand ninth in the Western Conference which means their chances to get a spot in the playoffs are bleak. However, this is a night for celebration for them as Steph continues to wreak havoc and etch his name in the NBA’s history.

Curry was announced as the Western Conference Player of the Week, a well-deserved honor after he capped it off after finishing the night with 47 points against the Celtics. Although the Warriors lost, he tied with Kobe Bryant, as it became his tenth straight game of scoring 30+ points.

And now that he has finished with a 49-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers, he has created another record. As per ESPN Stats and Info, “Stephen Curry finished with 49 pts tonight in a win vs the 76ers. It was his 5th 40-point game in April. That passes Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan for most 40-pt games in a month by a player age-33 or older.”

Can he lead the Warriors to the playoffs?

In the last few weeks, Curry has been on an unbelievably hot streak. After matching with Kobe’s record when playing Boston, he surpassed that too with his first three-pointer of the fourth quarter against the Sixers.

Curry’s supporting cast also came through in their latest matchup. But this needs to be the case every night if they at least want to be in the play-in. Curry too, has to continue going big every night with just 14 more games left for this season. These games will determine their fate in the postseason, or if they have one at all. Can Steph pull it off and continue the greatest performance streak of his career?
