WWE’s Charlotte Flair ‘indefinitely suspended and fined $100k’ after Raw attack and ‘unprofessional conduct’
Charlotte Flair ended Raw on a rampage as she attacked a WWE referee, and it’s cost her.
Official Adam Pearce has addressed the on-screen actions of the Queen, who beat up the ref during an eventful Monday night for the superstar after she made her return last week.
In a storyline statement on WWE.com, the company confirmed: ‘During the April 19 edition of Raw Talk, WWE Official Adam Pearce broke the news that Charlotte Flair has been indefinitely suspended and fined $100,000 for her un-professional conduct on Monday Night Raw, as well as physically abusing an official.
‘She is currently being escorted from the building.’
Given the fact that Charlotte on just came back on April 12, the night after WrestleMania, it will be interesting to see how this plays out from here.
Flair continued to run down the Raw women’s division earlier in the night, branding the roster ‘rats who don’t like each other’, before Asuka and the champ Rhea Ripley came out to get involved.
This all led to the main event, which saw Charlotte and Asuka rekindled their rivalry in a good match that showed off their undeniable chemistry as opponents.
In the end, Ripley cost her the match while the ref was distracted, forcing her to break the Figure Eight and opening the door for the Empress of Tomorrow to win with a roll-up.
After the bell, Flair attacked the official and beat him down, which is what has led to the on-screen punishment.
Hours before the show, she had teased her new attitude in a stunning photo as she claimed she was on her ‘worst behaviour’.
Charlotte posed for the revealing snap with her cleavage on show in an open blazer and matching pink pants.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘Right back on my worst behavior [sic].’
Her comeback – and last night’s storyline suspension – comes after her controversial WrestleMania absence, as she and Andrade recently claimed a WWE doctor incorrectly told her she was pregnant, which led to her being ‘medically’ suspended before it was revealed not to be the case.
In a statement to talkSPORT writer Alex McCarthy, her representative said: ‘What Manny said about the pregnancy test in today’s interview is true, but a significant amount of context is lost in translation and we’d like to clear that up as best we can.
‘A few weeks ago, Charlotte received a call from WWE medical telling her that her HCG levels had come back high and she was medically suspended for pregnancy.
‘That day, she took several home tests that all came back negative. A few days later, blood work and ultrasound confirmed there was no pregnancy.’
Charlotte’s team said at the time that this took place before she tested positive for Covid-19, and ‘she is currently medically clear’.
They clarified that her issue isn’t with being incorrectly told she was pregnant, but rather with ‘the process’ and the way it was handled.
